Why does the network brand matter for a CCTV system?
Because most large-system failures are network failures wearing a camera costume. Dropped footage, cameras rebooting, recordings full of gaps — the usual culprits are overloaded switches, undersized power delivery and improvised cabling. Building the backbone on infrastructure-grade equipment removes the layer where large systems most often go wrong.
Is Allied Telesis overkill for a small shop or home?
Usually, yes — and we'll tell you so. A home or small retail system is well served by more modest networking installed carefully. Allied Telesis earns its place as camera counts, buildings and cable distances grow, and on any site where security downtime has real operational cost. Matching the backbone to the scale is part of honest design.
Can you fix an existing system that keeps dropping cameras?
That's a familiar Adelaide service call, and the cameras are rarely the guilty party.
